Greece – Thessaloníki (Thessaloniki)
In April 2018, 136 employees of the company visited and enjoyed the beauties of the second largest city in Greece, Thessaloniki.
The bus ride to Belgrade as well as the flight from Belgrade to Greece made this trip especially interesting and exciting.
The starting point of our tour of the city was the highest part of Thessaloniki, a city that lies on a hill.
We visited Zejtinlik – a holy Serbian place where 6,600 Serbian soldiers are buried. It spreads over 7,000 m2 and is named after the oil market that was located there before the cemetery.
We also visited the monument to Alexander III of Macedon, the White Tower built by the Turkish Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. He built it and reconstructed it with the intention of protecting the eastern city walls. We were also in the Church of St. Demetrius, Aristotle Square.
We ended the trip by visiting Meteora, a complex consisting of 6 monasteries located on natural steep cliffs that are today the biggest tourist attraction in mainland Greece.
