EUREM is a standardized European EnergyManager training program that includes courses, self-study and practical work, combined with access to a European alumni network for continuous knowledge exchange.
During the course, each EnergyManager develops on average measures with a saving potential of 600 MWh / year for his company. Participants learn to describe the technical and financial aspects of their measures in a standardized and concise manner, to facilitate decision-making at the management level. On average, about 75% of these measures are implemented, and further ones are implemented later.
Developed in the SAVE II project in the period 2003-2005, and further developed partly with the help of EU programs and national funds, partly with the training provider’s own funds, the course has been regularly offered since then (currently in 27 countries worldwide) now numbering more than 5,000 former students. They mainly work in industry and as energy consultants / auditors, but also in the service and public sectors.

Professional training encourages the use of energy-efficient technologies and contributing to environmental protection.
The main reasons for implementing an energy manager in individual companies are various. Although some companies are already trying to apply measures to save energy, there are still potentials for reducing costs in that segment, which ultimately results in strengthening the company’s competitiveness and contributes to environmental protection.
Since 2019, the EUREM professional development program has been implemented for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Representation of the German Economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
